Depends on what nameserver (DNS) you are connected to. If using DHCP to assign your IP address then the DHCP server also assigns you to whatever your employer's IT department decided that you were supposed to use. Again, contact your IT department to find out how to use a different nameserver after explaining why you are trying to circumvent their setup.
