Re: svchost.exe problem

The issue is related to Automatic Updates. A temporary workaround is to delete a file and the contents of one folder.
In order to do so, first stop the Automatic Update service by going to Start > Run > type in

net stop wuauserv

Click OK or press Enter

Show hidden files, folders, and system files

Navigate to
WINDOWS\SoftwareDistribution\DataStore
Delete the DataStor.edb file

*NOTE*: Doing so will remove the updating history that one sees on either the Windows or Microsoft Update sites.

Next, open the WINDOWS\SoftwareDistribution\Download folder
Delete all contents in Download
Close the window; empty the Recycle Bin

Go back to Start > Run > type in

net start wuauserv

Click OK or press Enter

Dear All,
Hello

When I’m connected to internet but not using it, svchost.exe seems to still send and receive information. My antivirus doesn’t show that svchost.exe is infected (I also checked it with online Kaspersky scan) and windows update in off. Also when I prevent svchost.exe to access internet (using ZoneAlarm) other applications (like web browsers) can not either access internet. What should I do?

Thanks

.
