I have four computers connected to a home network system through a wireless
router, which is connected to the Internet. One computer, my laptop,
connects
wirelessly -- all others are wired to the network.
I cannot get through to my laptop via the network, or vice versa -- I
can't
get through to the other computers from my laptop -- to transfer files or
what have you. Only if I turn off the firewall will it work.
Is there a way to leave the firewall on to protect again outside
intrusion,
but allow all internal connections to get through, including my wireless
connection?
Thank you for any help.

Well the short answer is yes, but to do it requires some work on your part.

If you mean you turned off the firewall that is on your laptop, then look at
the settings of your firewall for allowed or trusted computers. Enter the
IPs or scope of IPs (if you use DHCP) required. The firewall should then
allow traffic from those computers to get through.

Let us know how you get on.

HTH,
Steve
