Hi

I am using Windows XP Professional SP2. Recently I made this observation
of
running processes on my system using the Task Manager. Almost always there
is
a process running by a random name (such as X18183.exe etc). It runs under
the username SYSTEM.

I assume it is some unwanted process. I can end it and it does not come up
until I reboot my system. But the problem is such a process shall again
and
again start whenever I reboot my system. What can be the possible solution
to
this menace? Any help will be deeply appreciated. To see what I have tried
read below.

Things tried:- Complete (brute-force) scan using Tend-Micro Office Scan,
Windows Defender, Lavasoft Ad-Aware and Zone Alarm.
It certainly sounds like you have malware. The ones you have tried may not
find the culprit. I would try David Lipman's Multi_AV tool. It uses four
different AV scanners.
