Re: Windows XP Professional & ZoneAlarm

Ok, check the event logs. There should be a logging feature in ZA. Obviously,
you would just need to check the logs back until when it first started.

Then, after that, I would check the event logs in Windows. Start, Run, type
"eventvwr", no quotes.
After that, you could ask a real Zone Alarm expert. I'm not an expert in ZA.

You can ask Don at www.donhoover.net
He is a ZA expert.

Do you have the default XP firewall disabled? Running 2 firewalls creates
conflicts. You could have a lot of false postives.

Did you pay money money for ZA? I don't recommend ZA. I use Comodo.
Besides,
it's free.

I'm using ZoneAlarm Security Suite on my PC, and everything used to run
fine
& dandy.

Lately however, I've been getting a "Windows Security Alert" in my
SysTray,
advising that "ZoneAlarm Security Suite Firewall reports that it is
currently turned off." When I check in ZoneAlarm, I have Internet Zone
Security set to high & Trusted Zone set to Medium. The Overview screen
tells me that 101036 access attempts have been blocked & that the
Firewall
is up to date.

From what I can tell, the firewall is working, so what gives with the
Security Alert?

Anyone help?

TIA
