Hijackthis is a great program for removing spyware but it lists the good alone with the bad you can post to any site that allows hijackthis logs or you can troubleshoot yourself using your favourite search engine in the search request for example at google.com type spyware +name of one of the programs hijackthis found. so spyware + mapiicon.exe will come back a good file that you could move to the ignore list for future scans but spyware +importante.zip is the nujama virus. If hijackthis uncovers a virus it is best to use your antivirus software removal tools to remove then use hijackthis to clean up the left over mess. Often infections are just spyware which you can clean up with hijackthis.
I also use a program called ccleaner which is very good at cleanup junk on your XP system.

Hope this helps
