I can't start IX w/o admin rights. As another user, after double-click,
nothing. If I right-click on the shorcut bar only, I can start IE an
another
user (admin.) and it opens fine. There must be a security setting I'm
missing?! thanks,
al
Any add-ons installed? Possibly they are interfering in some way (and some
addons may have snuck in without you realizing it) or the limited user
accounts just don't have permissions to the add-ons files.
First, I'd suggest you get IE7 if you don't already have it. It's much
better than IE6 in terms of security
(http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/downloads/default.mspx )
Then, try running IE with all addons disabled. You can run IE7 without
add-ons if you right click the desktop icon for it, and choose "NoAddOns" or
"Run Without Add-ons" (depending on version) or Start->Run->
IEXPLORE.EXE -noaddons
Also, have a look here: http://windowsxp.mvps.org/IEFAQ.htm#IEOpen
