The setupapi.log will contain useful info, too. Don't overlook it.
(we also have restore points disabled which shouldn't prevent any errors with this).
Explain the above, please. SR must be enabled for SP2 to install.

Thanks for the replies.I have tried installing the updates seperatly i.e. only having one of the new updates installed and it fails regardless of which one is installed.
I am logging in with a domian admin account so permissions shouldn't be an issue.
I have referred to the svcpack.log file and the last actions that are taking place are the migrations of existing hotfixes (we also have restore points disabled which shouldn't prevent any errors with this).
