Have a PC here that recently had a virus and spyware infection,
although these have now been removed we cannot turn on the windows
firewall. Have tried resetting the Winsock chain but it has made no
difference, I have noticed tho that if I go to control
panel/administrative tools\windows firewall/Internet connection
sharing is missing so this would appear to be why we have the
problem. Is it possible to reinstall these items? @Is this maybe a
registryproblem?
Also tried system restore tobring it back but with no luck - any
assistance appreciated thank you
You could try resetting the Windows XP firewall settings..
START button --> RUN --> NETSH FIREWALL RESET --> OK.
Reboot for good measure.
