Re: Help and Support Center problems

Certain configurations were affected in this way after upgrading to SP 2. In the cause of improved security, Microsoft unintentionally ended up breaking Help and Support in certain cases. Personally, the improved security of SP 2 was more important to me.

At the time, several workarounds were suggested to take care of this problem. There was no one solution that did the trick for everyone. I'll tell you what worked for me, which may not work for you. A web search should find some other suggestions that worked for other people.

In my case, I simply changed the location of Temporary Internet Files, rebooted, changed Temporary Internet Files back to its original location, rebooted, and, voila, problem solved.

If this sounds crazy...well, you can't argue with success.

After installing SP2, Help and Support Center pages have XOX on them instead of who knows what text. Also, + signs are missing. Clicking on links does nothing. Clicking on related topics gives error "cannot display page". Have reset reg key 1400 value to 0 but this causes my downloaded games to not work correctly. Any ideas on how to fix this and still have everything work properly?
