internet Exploper not accessing emails

I had a virus on my computer tired some anti virus and some firewall
programs none removed it so I did a ?System Restore?. While windows
were starting up the first time after the ?System Restore? my
girlfriend restarted the computer before it got completely loaded. Now
?Internet Explorer? can open email pages even if I can access regular
web pages. In addition some files don?t work properly and some don?t
run out all.

I was thinking of using an XP CD to repair the computer but I am not
sure if that would work, and if it does work I don?t want windows to
tell me that it is not a genuine copy since the original CD got
misplaced.

Anyone has any suggested please

Thank you very much

earl
