the computer's are win xp pro w/ sp2 and no one should be installing

install something is by getting myself or the other person in charge
to log in as the admins so something can be installed if need be.

OK - you haven't told us anything we didn't already know here. Did you check
out the link Steven posted?

This maybe an issue later on i'm not sure yet, but also I want to know
how to allow some to have access to the IE but maybe not others. we
have about 7 users who have user/pw. one of the things that was
installed was aol and netscape. little did they know that pc has no
line running to it yet. but once again, this is a church pc and they
shouldn't be on the net anyway, so once I do setup the IE I want to
keep some from getting on or at least figure out how to restrict
sites.

As Lanwench said that will stop most of it. You may also want to
look at the capabilities of the Shared Computer Toolkit that is free
from Microsoft and will run on both XP Pro and XP Home as long as
service pack 2 is installed. Steve

Hello guys, I would like to know how to restrict users from being
able to install anything on windows xp. we have some pc's at my
church that people install stuff on and I would like to prevent
that. I changed the users to limited access instead of having full
admin but I want to know if that's all that's needed.

thanks for your help
