Is there any limit to the number of restore points you can save?
If I want to save as many restore points as possible, what is the
optimal amount of free space on my hard drive that I should have.
System Restore is a useful short-term tool for reversing immediate
mistakes. It is not a backup tool and - in the words of the late great
MVP Alex Nichol - will tend to get itself "in a twist" if you allocate
much more than 1.5MB to it.
If you want to take and keep "system snapshots" get an imaging/backup
program like Acronis True Image. Take "snapshots" and save them to an
external hard drive.
