Hello:

I have a workstation running off of Window XP SP2, and have
a problem with the system remembering the last logon user
name after rebooting.

I am using a user name that has administrator rights, but
it is not the default system administrator account. I also
have it configured that I do not have to manually put in
the user name (I don't require a password), and it
automatically boots right past the logon screen.

The problem is that when it boots up, it "defaults" back to
the system administrator account, then I have to log off
and then relog on to get back to the user account I want
to be in.

Are there some settings (or reset) that I am missing?

Thanks

It sounds like you missed a step when you setup automatic
logon. Try this:

Go to Start -> Run and enter the following in the Open box,

control userpasswords2

In the User Account applet, put a check mark in the box
next to "Users must enter a user name and password to use
this computer".
In the "Users for this computer" box, click on your user
account so it's highlighted.
Next, remove the check mark and hit the Apply or OK button.
You should see the "Automatically Log on" box with your user
account entered next to User Name. Make sure it's your
account that's listed. Here's where you ran into trouble
earlier by leaving the built-in Administrator account
entered.
Since your password is blank, leave those lines empty and
click OK twice.
Reboot to see if you get the desired results.

Good luck
