No he will not be able to logon with cached credentials unless he knows the
original password or the cached credentials are updated when the computer is
connected to a network that has the domain controller so he can then logon
to the domain with a new domain password. I was suggesting a way that could
still allow him access to the domain through the VPN not being able to logon
with his cached credentials which may be better than no access at all.

Thanks for the comments guys. But the thing is, even if the user is able
to
use a local admin account to get into the laptop and is able to connect to
the VPN with the new password, will he then be able to log back into the
laptop using the new password? I was thinking that for his new password to
replicate to his domain logon in his laptop, he should be logged on as
that
user not as a local user? (hopefully I didn't confuse you all...=P)

Have got a remote user (interstate) who had just changed his password

had forgotten what his new password was and now could not get into his
laptop. Thing is, the user connects to the network via a VPN client. So

dilema is that even if I reset the password on the AD, since he cannot
