Re: New Product key installed

deleting any files wga*.* on your system will kill the nag in the system
tray.

To really fix the problem you will have to logon to windows genuine
advantage page and let the webpage check out your installation and if found
to be genuine MS will write a registry key to allow you to download updates.
Without WGA certification microsoft (as of this writing) will not allow
installation of updates unless they are extremely critical.

I hope that helps,

Jim

I recently got the WGA notice that my software wasn't legit. I took the PC
back to the dealer I got it from and they said they would fix it. When I
took
it in they said they updated the product key as the corporate key they
used
had been changed. I no longer get the WGA pop-up, but when I go to Windows
Update it still says my software isn't legit.

What's going on here?

Also when I read the FAQ's it said the WGA activeX control would only be
installed via an opt-in process. I never opted in so why did this even
happen?

What do I do now?
