Re: Wierd File Name showing up all over in my pc

Looks like a CLSID without the accolades. { }

No extension?

How big are they?

Can you open them with Notepad?

In news:%23%23pQWUGrGHA.4912@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx,
Dave Marden <hello@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> hunted and pecked:
For some reason I have a file named AA88DD18-E0DE-4935-8969-E689E2B5EDED
that is showing up all over the place in my pc, but I scan it with
Computer Associates EZ Antivirus and it doesn't show up as containing any
virus's. I have scanned my entire hard drive and it finds no virus's. I
have searched for every instance of this file and I have 5756 instances
of this file in total. I first noticed it right after upgrading from
Windows XP Home to Windows XP MCE. I have searched for this file name in
Google but it pull up nothing.

I felt that security would be a good place to start looking for the answer
to this, if it would be better directed in another room please let me
know.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Dave Marden
