See the link below on how to manage folder/NTFS permissions. In XP Home you
need to boot into Safe Mode and logon as an administrator to see the
security tab in the properties of a folder or file. XP Home can only use
simple file sharing and there is no option to enable it or disable it. ---

Thanks for this. I've read the various articles but they havent
enlightened
me. Two further questions:

a) How do I check that the share and folder/NTFS permissions include
everyone?

b) I cant tell if simple file sharing is enabled. In the Window
Exploere/Tools/Folder Option/View window the Simple File Sharing Enabled
button isnt present. Is it meant to be?

I have a wireless network with a PC running XP Home and two other
laptops,
