Re: what does it mean: a threat in "System Volume Information"?



The "problem" is that NAV can not delete the file located in System Volume Information (System Restore).
Suggest you use Disk Cleanup to remove all but the most recent restore points.
Start> All Programs(Programs)>Accessories> System Tools> Disk Cleanup
Click the More Options tab after Disk Cleanup calculates the space that can be saved.
Click the Cleanup button under System Restore.

If that doesn't flush out the infected restore points, do not worry.
As long as infected restore points are not utilized, then the system is NOT at risk of an infection.
For peace of mind, you can disable SR, and then reenable it to completely flush the restore hierarchy.
Right click My Computer on the Desktop or Start Menu and choose Properties.
Then click the System Restore tab to be able to disable|reenable SR.
