Yes I already changed the local IP address to the public address and got the
same thing. Is it still trying to resolve the local host name.
Also sorry for the double post. I thought I was in another thread when I
sent the second message.

I've been able to setup a remote desktop connection to my Home PC
from the internet with no problem (using NAT), but I'm unable to
use remote assistance. I have made sure the correct port was open
and even stop the firewall service with no luck. I sent an
invitation through my outlook to my hotmail account and then
downloaded the RCBUDDY to my desktop, but when I try I get a
failure message: "Remote Assistance could not be established
because the remote host name could not be resolved. Please try
again." Is Remote Assistance using name resolution instead of IP?
if so is there a way to change that, or am I looking in the wrong
area?
In the future - if you feel your question needs to be in multiple groups -
please cross-post as opposed to posting separate questions in each group.
Did you modify the remote assistance request after you received it to use
the external instead of the internal IP address?
