There's no way to answer this, because you have told us what you're taking about.
I loaded windows XP PRo on top of XP Home prior to redirecting my files from my previous profile.
Do you mean that you performed an Upgrade? It certainly doesn't sound like it, as an upgrade would have left your user profile intact, with no "previous" profile from which to recover files.
