Background: the hard disk on my laptop failed. HP kindly sent me a
new one but of course its blank. I have tried loading up Windows XP
twice, from two different CDs. On both ocaasions, about half an
hour into the installation it asks for the SP2 CD, on which it
expects to find a folder called \i386. I have three SP2 CDs NONE of
which have a folder called \i386!!!!
Any ideas how I can get Windows XP back onto my laptop?
It's asking for your Windows XP SP2 CD - the full installation CD of WIndows
XP with SP2 integrated into it.
If HP did not provide you with one - contact them.
