Yes, I think/thought it is clean.
I use:

CA Pest Patrol -- most recently updated May 20th, most recent deep scan May

Spybot -- most recently updated May 20th, most recent deep scan May 20th &

Ad-Aware -- most recently updated May 20th, most recent deep scan May 20th &

until May 22nd I had a routher between the cable modem and my machine --
when Insight thought that the router might be the problem I completly
disconnected it and connected directly to the cable modem.

Since Sunday Morning I've experienced a sort of DoS

when I first turn my machine on or if I've just restarted it I can get
out 2 the internet and load a page in IE or download a few messages in
Outlook then after I've received a number a packets it seems like a
door closes and I can't receive anything from the internet until I
restart my machine.

This happens weather I start up in safe mode or normally. I
disconnected my router and hooked directly into my cable modem with my
eithernet card and
still the same thing. It is not my ISP because I can hook my laptop
into the
cable modem and it proceeds normally. I assume there is something in
my registry that watches my incoming on the internet and switches
things down when/after it detects activity.

What is the virus/malware status of the computer? If you think it is
clean, what programs (and versions) did you use to determine this?

Hi Jay,
My Advice to you is to get the Router back and use it to connect to the
internet, read the Documentations came with the router to configure it as
Hardware Firewall, it is the same, when you know there is somebody would like
to enter your House and Steal your Possession, what you do in this case?, you
lock all open Gates and windows to not allow him to get in.
Try to block any ports that can undermine your secuirty.
if you still have the Dos attack after you done your HomeWork, try to
connect behind a proxy server, there are some company can provide you with
that (some free and some will charge you) google for it.
Hope this helps
nass
