I have just been informed by Windows Update my product key is invalid. I am
having problem with spyware and tried to download antispyware from Microsoft.
The product key that is on my disk cover is not the same one in my computer
properties. How can I change or correct it without wiping my computer and
reloading my software??
Grab the install CD and do an in-place upgrade (i.e., Repair). Note that if you have applied SP-2 but the install CD is SP-1 then you need to make a slipstreamed version of the install CD that has SP-2 added to it.
