Re: New Print Management Snap-in will not work with firewall

That snap-in is not for XP.

I have installed the new Print Management snap-in on windows xp sp2 and I
can
not display a list of printers on my 2003 print servers without disabling
the
firewall on xp. The drivers, forms and ports all display with no problems.

2003 Servers do not have the firewall enabled.

File and print sharing is open in the xp firewall on all of my subnets and
there are no issues with actual printing and sharing.

I change the firewall settings to allow Any Network (including internet)
on
tcp ports 139 or 445 under file and print sharing and it works.

So why does it not work when I restirct it to my subnets? I would like
to
keep the ports restricted to my subnets.

Thanks for the help.
