RE: Access permissions

I have already tried this and I get the same message that I don't have
permission to view folder content and files. Thanks for the help though.

Have you tried right-clicking on the folder, choose sharing and security ->
advanced -> click on the owner tab, and make your account the owner of the
folder and all subcontainers and objects? As long as you have local
administrator rights, you should be able to do so.

I have a laptop that had the motherboard go bad and I want to retrieve files
off of the hard drive. I took the drive out and am using another laptop to
try and copy the files. I can browse most of the hard disk but I get an
"access is denied" message when I try to browse to documents and settings. I
am using administrator privileges. How can I save these files without having
to reinstall Windows? Thanks.
