Errors similar to that are usually caused by a bad CD or bad download.
Order another SP-2 CD or download and burn SP-2 to CD, both options Step 1

I had to reformat my HD and then reinstalled XP Pro, installed all updates
available and went to install SP2 and it started fine and got have way and
said that there was an error that my manifest didn't match. I'm confused.
I
don't know how to get around it. My version of XP is authentic.
