Shared documents folder repeatedly becomes inaccessible to limited users

On my Windows XP SP2 Dell that has worked fine for two years, all of a suden
I am having problems with my Shared Documents folder - it becomes
inaccessible to limited users every few days. I log in as Administrator and
set the folder to be shared again, it works for a day or so, but then its
shared status evaporates somehow. I have checked for viruses and spyware
and found nothing. I would appreciate any suggestions. Greg
