You can't selectively deny access to users for network access [Vista may
have such with ipsec enhancements] but what you can do is to configure user
accounts and permissions to shares and manage the user right for access this
computer from the network to contain only the users/groups that need access
via Local Security Policy in XP Pro only. For XP Home computers you are out
of luck because XP Home can use only simple file sharing that forces users
to authenticate as guest/anonymous. If you currently are not using share
permissions and user accounts to manage network access to shares on XP Pro
computers you will need to disable simple file sharing on them. The links
below explain more. FYI WEP is pretty weak protection by today's standards
and WPA has become widely used as a much safer alternative for those that
have WAP and wireless network cards that support it. If you have to use WEP
be sure to change your WEP keys on a regular basis. --- Steve

I have a three system hardwired peer-peer net at our local club. We
recently
installed DSL and a wireless router w/WEP excryption. the local systems
are
connected through the router ports. These local systems must be able to
communicate and currently work fine.
The problem I have is that when I add a wireless user, they can access the
local systems. How how can I make the peer to peer hardwired network
invisible to most of the wireless users.
There may be several wireless users that need to access the hardwired
system.
