Hi,

Gave up and reloaded PC. The first time I have had admit defeat!

There is obviously some malware that is not being picked up by any of the
spyware tools- perhaps it is something new!!

This PC was in an unused state for about six months. I tried to go back as
far as I could and that is where I am at right now.

The part that really bites is that I keep trying to fix this, but since the
firewall is working on SP1, I don't know if the attempt to fix the problem
worked until I install SP2. Then I have to restore back to SP1 and try again.

so if you still have problems
do a system restore to a time BEFORE you had those spyware.

Tell me if this helps

Hi,
PC was infected with SurfSideKick and Look2me which have proved well
nigh
impossible to clean despite using Spbot, Ad-aware, Ewido, Defender, and
various other fixes.
I have spent approximately 5 days solid trying to clean this one and I
have
pulled most of my hair out!
If you know which registry keys affect the security centre
notifications
that may help.
Thanks,
Gordon

Hi,
Firewall now back to normal but "change the way Serurity Centre
Alerts
me"
is greyed out. Any ideas?
problems seem to have been caused by "look2me" malware which is an
absolute
nightmare to clean.
Thanks for your help.
