Hi everyone, and thanks in advance for your expertise.
My system will not allow me to access my files in "my music" section
of "My Documents." It closes the window with the message "data
execution and administration". I learned that I can access certain
folders by going through the "open host folder" in the Windows Media
Library index, but that stopped allowing me access also. I'm real
"green" (a newbie) to computers, and admit to being pretty lame at
comprehending reports. Any suggestions as to what I should do next?
You could follow Treeman's instrstrctions and turn off DEP. You will
be able to access the files but whatever is causing the problem will
still be there. It is likely you have installed some multimedia
program that is causing the problem. When you access the folder with
the files in it this program is called by Windows if it is in the
right-click context menu. Did the problem start soon after you
installed a video or audio program? Some versions of divx and winamp
commonly cause this. There may be others as well.

files/programs off the internet. That has been my fear...that it is a
virus or something because of it.
What multimedia programs do you have installed? Video/DVD/audio players?
