Check the time on your computer to make sure it is correct and be sure to
check it all - month, year, time zone, etc. --- Steve

I just began having a problem with secure (https) sites. Whenever I go to a
secure page I get a "Security Alert" message box which has the statement
"Security certificate has expired or is not valid" and asking if I want to
proceed. There are 3 buttons - "yes", "no" and "view certificate". This
just
started after someone was troubleshooting my system and playing with some
configuration things to find a problem I was having with my dial-up modem.
Note: I usually use an ethernet connection. It has otherwise been working
fine before. Running XP Pro. Do not have the problem on a 2nd machine.
I connect through a router and am not running any firewall software.
Difficulty accessing secure sites is not only thru the browser. I run a
program which handles it's own connection to it's companies server and it
cannot access the web either.
Can anyone tell me what the problem might be?
