Re: Read Only Attributes - Do not function any more...

Tweek does not bring back the previous functionality of prevent (at least
warning) users from moving read-only folders. Still an issue.

Do you know if tweek will bring back the functionality in XP that Read Only
attributes used to employ in Win 2000?

The following is a link to an Windows Explorer sort order regedit fix so
directories sort like they did in Windows 2000.
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?kbid=319827

win 2000 sorted a directory list in the the following manner:
3010-0010
3010-001a
3010-001b
3010-0020
3010-002a
xp & win 2003 server
3010-001a
3010-001b
3010-002a
3010-0010
3010-0020

I used to use these to alert users from moving folders accidentally.
Windows would prompt the users "Are you sure you want to move this read
only folder? - yes/no". This mode has not been moved forward into xp or
win 2003 server.

I've found a post that says "This behavior is by design"
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/326549/en-us
(its' also a change from the past)

Is there a regedit to make the system behave like it used to.
Thanks
Barry
