problem deleting 0k file

Hi folks.
I am having a load of trouble deleting a 0k file from my desktop. when
trying to delete it I get the message that cannot read from source or it
does not exist. When going through the command prompt and running attrib it
shows as having an archive, system and hidden attributes but won't let me
remove them - get the message that the files doesn't exist!
I've booted to safe mode, tried other profiles and still no luck.
I've tried killbox but still cannot get rid of this. this is really
aggravating
any ideas?
