There are 3rd party utility programs that will do just this. GoBack (Roxio -
now Symantec) has this capability which is great for a public computer.
The computer always starts in a known "clean" state, no matter what others
have done to it before it was shut down. And, because it is a public
computer, there is no reason to retain any files or information that was
downloaded (either accidentally or on purpose) to the computer during the
previous session.
