OK now we have a problem. I have SP2, which of course you should to but
that's another story, and in order for this to work the SP2 which includes
SP1 and all other updates, has to be slipstreamed into your installation
disk, otherwise you'd be inserting disk after disk and making little
progress. I used Autostreamer and Nero for that.
Is it prompting you to insert disks?
If you aren't careful here it's going to mean a complete reinstallation.
