Generally when System Restore goes bad, there is nothing you can do
except to disable it, reboot, and then enable it again. This removes
all the old System Restore points, so if you are trying to fix a
problem by using System Restore this might not be the best answer for
you. Here is a site with tons of information about System Restore:

MVP Bert Kinney: http://bertk.mvps.org/index.html

If you need more help, perhaps we should be addressing the problem that
is causing you to want to do a System Restore. In that case, post back
with all details.
