Logon to XP machine with account having administrator privileges.
Execute Internet Explorer (IE) using this administrator account and am able
to successfully print viewed web page to printer physically connected to
machine.
Next, use RunAs command to execute Internet Explorer with Limited User
Account privileges. Internet Explorer runs fine. Navigate to same web page
as above. Attempt to print. Printer prints a "header" and "footer"
containing page number but content between header and footer not rendered.
Finally, logoff admin account and logon to Limited User Account. Desktop
now reflects the one for Limited User. Navigate to same web page again,
using IE, execute print and the entire page prints correctly. This seems to
hightlight the problem as an interprocess communication bug when Limited User
Account is executing from desktop of administrator account.
Discovered temporary work around - able to "copy and paste" between IE
process, running as limited user, and Word process running with
administrative privledges. There's a noticable delay in the paste operation
as the copied page hops between the different execution contexts. Perhaps
this delay is long enough to cause the printing problem?
Has anyone experienced this problem and formulated a more permanet solution?
Thanks!
