Controlling access to broadband internet connection

Thanks for your reply.

It looks like I am a bit stuck - the connection is always on and I am
running Windows XP Home. I was hoping I could avoid using Net Nanny
and the like. It seems are real shame that XP doesn't innately allow
for this type of functionality - I can't be the only person who would
like certain uses to access the internet and others not.

I was hoping that I set up the computer so that the network card was
disabled or enabled for particular users but I can't see any way of
doing this.

I guess I will have to look at Net Nanny but to be honest the program,
with all its filtering and everything, does many more things than I
need it to. Additionally my experience of it is that it hogs
resources.
