I have several Window XP SP2 laptops on a Windows 2003 server network. There
is a policy defined that the users must change their passwords every 60 days.
I have two issues.

Issue One:

I have had several users who were forced to change their password, as
scheduled, while the laptop was connected to the domain. They continued with
the log on process and working throughout the rest of the day. At the end of
the day, they shut down their laptop and went home. While at home, they
could not log onto their laptop at all. When they got back and connected to
the domain, their account was locked and their password had to be reset.

I found a work around by having the users logging off immediately after
changing their password.

Is there some permanent fix or setting that can can help alleviate this?

Issue Two:

These same users are being prompted to change their password when they are
not connected to the domain. I have told them to not change their password
when away from the domain.

Is there something that can delay the password change when the laptop is not
connected to the domain?

Thanks!
