Cross-posting is addressing a single message to more than one
group, which is what he did. This message is crossposted to
microsoft.public.dk.windowsxp,
microsoft.public.windowsxp.basics,
microsoft.public.windowsxp.configuration_manage,
microsoft.public.windowsxp.customize,
microsoft.public.windowsxp.general, and
microsoft.public.windowsxp.security_admin
Multi-posting is sending a separate message to more than one
group.

In that case, besides crossposting, he also multri-posted, which
I didn't realize.

You don't. Multi-posting is always a bad thing to do under all
circumstances, as I said in my original message. You don't even
know what other groups he posted to. Because he cross-posted, I
hadn't realized that he also multi-posted.

Exactly.

If he multi-posted, I agree with you. If it's just crossposting,
I don't think it usually deserves the bad rap it often gets,
which was the point of my reply to you.
