problem with XP ans WiFi networkin

i have 1 laptop and 1 desktop.
i have one card dlink WiFi and my lap top is Acer 1513LMi.
i can connect with WiFi but the transfer is very slow.....
if make connect with cable is very good. but if i do connect with WiFi
the transfering very very slow..
Can you help me anyone/
