I tried the registry method too, but it still didn't work. I think I have
discovered the real problem, although I still don't know how to fix it.
Here's the deal: this is happening on a server that i look at via 'remote
desktop'. when i look at it using remote desktop, i get the alerts. when i
connect a monitor, mouse & keyboard directly to the server, i don't get the
alerts. doe sthat shed any light on how to fix this? i need to continue the
present set-up, that is, accessing the server via 'remote desktop'. thanks
again for your help!
