Stand-Alone & Legacy Templates

i had downloaded Windows_XP_Security_Guide_v2.zip
from
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=2D3E25BC-F434-4CC6-A5A7-09A8A229F118&displaylang=en

it has lots of templates to secure almost any type of environment

the "Windows XP Security Guide.pdf" provides good stuff about how and when
to use those templates

but i couldnt understand when to use "Legacy" and "Stand-Alone" Templates

Any help is greatly appreciated !!!
