Possibly a solution (I had the same troubles after performing a
sysprep-operation):
If WindowsXP find AutoLogonCount with value "0" at startup it will reset
AutoAdminLogon to "0".
Look up into \\HKLM\Software\Microsft\WindowsNT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon for
a REG_WORD called "AutoLogonCount". If it is present delete it, set your
AutoLogon-Values and try again.
