RE: cannot login as any user

I would check a few things when in Safe Mode.
Check the log file for events which may indicate bad sectors on the disk. If
that is not the case then go ahead and clear all the events from the System
part of the logs. Back them up to something else. The backing option will
appear when you right click on the System part of the logs and click on
'Clear All Events'. Back it up as something and that should resize the log
file to 4K in size.

Try to log in normally and see if that fixed the issue.
