Password Problem

I moved an existing PC yesterday and everything worked fine. Today I was
unable to log on to the PC. It would not recognize the administrator
password. A new hardly used PC had the same thing happen today. I had to
format the PC and re-install XP. It seems very unlikely that this could
happen to 2 PC's in the same building on the same day. Does anyone know what
may have caused this? I do not want to re-install on the 2nd PC if this is
going to happen again.
