Michael,

It just sits there ?

There's a TINY change it's not totally dead. Since the task manager comes
up, it's not totally locked up. You can look at the processes to see if
something's using up the cpu, and what IS running.

When you're on the 'Applications' tab, at the bottem right, there's a
'New Task' button. Click that and see if you can start explorer, just
type in explorer and press return. explorer is the file manager, but it's
also the shell, the UI to Windows. The first time you start it, the shell
starts and this should bring on the desktop. If you can do that, then you
can navigate around and try to find something more out.

Does it start in Safe mode ?
