Are we talking about "Spybot Search & Destroy"? There are a lot of pale (and
even malicious) imitations out there with similar names.
Assuming we are talking about Spybot S&D, i've seen this behaviour in older
versions and find that just leaving it the heck alone while i go and have a
coffee and read another chapter of my book (currently "Fever Cell" by
Leonard Goldenberg!) it finishes in the end.
