1) Download the following two items...
Trend Sysclean Package
http://www.trendmicro.com/download/dcs.asp
Latest Trend signature files.
http://www.trendmicro.com/download/pattern.asp
2) If you are using WinME or WinXP, disable System Restore
http://vil.nai.com/vil/SystemHelpDocs/DisableSysRestore.htm
3) Reboot your PC into Safe Mode
4) Using the Trend Sysclean utility, perform a Full Scan of your platform and
clean/delete any infectors found
5) Restart your PC and perform a "final" Full Scan of your platform
6) If you are using WinME or WinXP,Re-enable System Restore and re-apply any
System Restore preferences, (e.g. HD space to use suggested 400 ~ 600MB),
7) Reboot your PC.
8) If you are using WinME or WinXP, create a new Restore point
9) Please report back your results

| My computer got a virus back in June. Since then I've
| had so much trouble removing it. I've had the hard drive
| reformatted twice & reloaded my programs. I used Norton
| Internet Security 2004. Then when I got on the internet
| last week, they popped up again. I downloaded, Panda,
| Grisoft, Spybot, & Adware since my Norton
| wouldn't/couldn't remove the virus. I talked to Symantec
| for 3 hours removing everything relating to their
| program. When I bought my Dell computer in March it came
| with NAV 2004. Symantec said it was corrupted & had to
| come off (which he helped me to do) & then reload the
| Norton Internet Security. That worked fine for a while.
| Then yesterday it said I had W32.spybot.worm & it
| couldn't remove it. I've been downloading updates daily
| & yesterday it showed that my autoprotection was disabled
| & I couldn't enable it. What is the problem? Is
| Symantec just useless? I'm tired of dealing with this.
| Can you get a virus through your DSL modem? I'm at a
| loss as to how to fix this problem & my computer has been
| virtually useless the last 3 months. Any help would be
| greatly appreciated.
